Maite Jiménez Vidal
Licensed Acupuncturist, PhD
Austin, TX · In-Person · $
Maite's route to acupuncture started in a lab: she was a postdoctoral scientist at UCSF, studying intracellular pH. Acupuncture and Chinese herbs helped her through her own healing, so she retrained at Texas Health and Science University. She's held a Texas acupuncture license since 2014 and now works solo, seeing people in a calm, private treatment room in Austin.
Get In TouchApproach
90-minute first visit: full health history, tongue and pulse, then treatment. Follow-ups (50 min) are acupuncture plus moxa, cupping, tuina or a custom herbal formula when it makes sense, and lifestyle suggestions. Every session is aimed at calming the nervous system (she has foundational Somatic Experiencing training), and at you feeling heard.
Who They're Great For
The girl who can feel stress showing up in her digestion and her hormones and wants someone patient enough to trace how it all links up. Especially good if you're science-minded (she came from a research lab) or planning regular sessions, since she offers a sliding scale for ongoing care.
